PRODUCT CARE
For everyone who treats their bag like a favorite piece.
To keep enjoying your handmade bag for a long time, we recommend gentle care. Our bags are made from high-quality T‑Shirt Yarn – a soft, stretchy material made of 65% polyester and 35% viscose. This makes them pleasant to the touch but also a bit more delicate than regular bags.
Since each piece is lovingly handmade and even the satin label is sewn in by hand, you shouldn’t wash your bag in the washing machine. Here’s how you can clean it easily and gently:
Cleaning & Care:
1. Hand wash instead of machine.
Please clean your bag by hand only – ideally with lukewarm water (around 20°C). A mild, colorless detergent or a gentle delicate wash is perfect for this.
2. Gentle instead of scrubbing.
If needed, soak the bag briefly and gently press the fabric through the water. Avoid strong rubbing or wringing – this helps keep the shape and material in good condition
3. No bleach or dry cleaning.
To protect the colors and fibers, please avoid bleach or harsh cleaners. Dry cleaning is also not suitable.
4. Air dry flat.
After cleaning, gently press the bag into a clean towel to remove excess water. Then lay it flat to dry – preferably in the shade and not directly on a heater or in the sun. This helps prevent deformation or fading.
5. What to do about pilling?
Since the yarn can sometimes develop small fuzz balls (called "pilling") from friction, you can gently remove them with a lint shaver or a special fabric comb – and your bag will look like new again.
Please note: Colors can transfer between textiles. Light-colored T‑Shirt Yarn bags may pick up dye from strongly colored fabrics—like new jeans or dark jackets—especially when these are new or damp. Conversely, dark yarn can also transfer color onto light clothing or surfaces. To avoid discoloration, try to wear and store your bag separately from heavily dyed materials.
